The
Mizen Head Signal Station was completed in 1910

The
visitor centre has been open to the public since 1994. The
lightkeepers houses have been converted to include an audio visual
room, a map and
archive room, the Fastnet room, the underwater room, the bird and sea
watch room
and the storm room. The Keeper's kitchen and one bedroom have been
retained.

For
many years the gates at the entrance to this bridge were kept
locked and for thousands of people, this was as near to the Lighthouse
as they could
get.

Now,
thanks to the local community's involvement people can look
back at the Mizen Bridge from the Lighthouse side.
But
that's only the beginning of the story. The rest of it lies
behind the cameraman. Come see for yourself and our guides will tell
you much, much
more.
The Mizen Bridge was totally reconstructed in
2010 and additional pathways and lookout platforms have been added.
New
images will be added here soon.
Mizen
Head Visitor Centre. Always a new experience.
